Covid Vax Sicko

On Monday, December 11, 2023 I decided to get the latest Moderna Covid vaccine. I originally got the Moderna vax before the original Covid and, though I had no side effects, I got the Covid disease anyway and had it for 25 miserable days, and 2 ER visits.

This year, I decided I would get the latest Moderna vax and hopefully escape getting Covid or having a milder case (less than 2 weeks). I made an appointment at my local pharmacy's Minute Clinic and got the shot at 2:30 PM. Everything was fine for 8 hours...and then I started getting sick. Really sick. Starting at 10:30 PM I felt short of breath, my heartbeat was erratic and I could not go to sleep. It did not stop. I was getting sicker by the hour.

I can think of no other activity that I was involved in prior to getting this Covid vax that would have caused these symptoms.

I went to the ER at 3:30 AM on Tuesday morning. I was literally shaking and shivering. They examined me and found AFib, low oxygen, and some "mist" on my lung. I was admitted. I was miserable and sick. I was hooked up with dozens of wires to monitors. They put me on oxygen.  I also could not urinate and was given a PAINFUL catheter. Prior to this I urinated every 2 hours on my own, no problems. Bedridden in the hospital I mostly slept for full 2 days. Whenever I told the ER and doctor staff that I thought my symptoms might be from the Covid shot they did not disagree.

I was hospitalized until Thursday afternoon. By then my oxygen level had returned to normal, my heart rate and temperature was "normal". I was released to go home. WITH my catheter. They told me I would have to see a urologist to remedy using a catheter. What? I said, "Why doesn't the ER/hospital test me. Take out the catheter and let's see if I can pee without it. If I can urinate on my own leave it off. If I can't urinate on my own put the catheter back in." They said, "We can't do that. If we let you go without the cath and you have to have it reinserted at some point the ER can't do that, you would have to be fully admitted to the hospital for us to do it." I said, "That makes no sense." They replied, "That's the way it is. You'll have to see a urologist." "That could take days, weeks," I said. "Meanwhile, I have to live with painful peeing and have to learn how to wear and empty and clean a device in my penis and on my leg I may not even need!?"

So now I am forced to go see a urologist for my new catheter usage. My appointment is for Tuesday, 4 uncomfortable painful days away.

What a f-ing mess! Possibly caused by my decision to do a healthy and wise thing and get another Covid vaccination.

I also got "hospital tats". On my chest. In the middle and on both sides. From the monitoring devices attached to my skin.

And some new meds

Without the new prescription drugs I have to now take I usually take 3-5 meds. Today there was 8.

4 days later I went to the urologist and had my catheter removed. Thankfully, I could urinate on my own and they didn't have to reinsert it.

I have now been sick for 10 days after "coincidentally" getting the latest Covid vax. I have been to the ER 2 times. So far, I am surviving.
