When you do a Google search there is one thing you must do. Must do.
A while ago I noticed that the results, after the often incorrect AI Overview entry, the Sponsored results and all the social media i.e. reddit, you finally get the results from what may be credible sources. I always choose a professional reliable proven source if I can find one listed in the results. For instance, if I am doing a medical related search, I normally do not click on and go to an unknown blog, reddit, youtube or other social media. Instead, I rely on proven medical expert sources on sites I recognize, like the Mayo Clinic, the Cleveland Clinic, etc.
What is the Must thing I do now? When I do a Google search these days for current information on a subject, the other thing I do now, the MUST thing, is add the year after my search entry. If you don't, you are likely to be given information that is outdated, years old and which no longer be valid. Here is an example:
Search for "waking up in the middle of the night". After the AI and reddit and quora, mixed in with youtube videos I get results that are years old. If I add the year at the end of my entry, "waking up in the middle of the night 2025", after the Sponsored results I get the most current results I want. The old outdated results are usually further down the page. When the results of a search for current information starts listing results from years ago, I stop my Google search viewing.
So, when you are doing a Google search, remember to add the year at the end of your entry.
