On Tuesday, November 4, 2025, the New York City Mayoral election was won by a radical left-wing Democrat socialist. The new mayor has proposed, among other things, raising taxes on the rich, and city-owned grocery stores. Voters elected the no-experience candidate on these and other things.
NYC voters who elected Mamdani as mayor have lost their minds. They are stupid and/or crazy. They voted for their own, and their city's, collapse snd demise. Collapse? Demise? Why? Because socialism does not, and can not, work in large populations. Why? Because, as Margaret Thatcher said, "Eventually you run out of other people's money". In a large population, i.e. more than 50 million people, a socialist goverment has to spend a lot of money on providing services, more money then it can raise via taxes or borrowing.
Here is what will happen in New York City. The first reaction will be businesses and rich people leaving in droves, taking their money, wealth and tens of thousands of tax paying jobs with them. And the real estate market will crash. That means that, while the socialist government spends tons more money on socialist issues and tons of new government programs and controls on "affordable living for all", they will not have the incoming tax revenue to cover it. And NYC's credit rating will be dropped precipitally, making it difficult or impossible for the city to borrow money to pay for maintaining its programs or to implement new programs.
All of the above will severly degrade the living standard in New York City and turn it into a third world place to live.
Thus is what Democrat voters in New York City stupidly and/or insanely voted for.
