California Climate Change

the leather jacket

Here in Los Angeles September is often the hottest month. This year (2023), so far in September we haven't had any temps near or at or over 100 degrees (F). Where's the heat? In fact, today, September 21, the temperature is expected to be 71 degrees (F). And cloudy. With a low of 56 (F). And yesterday, in the early evening, for the first time this Fall I wore one of my "winter" jackets.

Global Climate Change? California Climate Change? Los Angeles Climate Change?

Many of us live here in Southern California for one reason and one reason only. The weather. The warm and sunny weather, year round. Lately, in each of the past few years, we've been having what they call "May Gray", a month of cloudy cooler days in May. Followed by "June Gloom", another month of cloudy cooler days in June.

And in September, do we now have "Sept Yep", a month of cool temperature jacket weather instead of sweltering temps and shorts and a t-shirt, or a bathing suit? Instead of being warm the second half of the month has been cool. On September 22 at 7:30 AM, for the first time since like April, the heat went on in my residence as the indoor temperature went below the set minimum.

And I've been informed/preached at by the climate extremists that the climate is getting ... warmer? But, in my neighborhood, the weather seems to have been getting cloudier, and cooler. And wetter..

Global Climate Change? California Climate Change? Los Angeles Climate Change? I don't know. Living in Los Angeles I don't own any sweaters but if this weather trend, this climate change, continues I may have to/want to buy a few soon.
